Ferencvaros will face Trabzonspor in UEFA Europa League Group H away match on Thursday, the 3rd of November. The match will take place at Akyazi Stadium stadium in Trabzon. Kick-off is at 18.45 CET.
Trabzonspor are the current champions of Turkey. The club was formed in 1967 and is one of the most decorated clubs in Turkey. They have won seven Süper Lig titles and were the first non Istanbul-based club to win the league. They also have won nine Federation Cup (Turkish Cup) titles. The club won their first championship title in 1975–76, and won three championship titles in a row in the 1978–79, 1979–80 and 1980–81. They would add one more title in 1983-84 before embarking on a 38 year championship drought. This drought eventually came to an end after they secured the championship in 2021-22.
Trabzonspor is currently 6th in the Turkish Super Lig, with 21 points after the first 11 matches. Trabzonspor did not play a Turkish Super Lig match last weekend, focusing on preparations to the Europa League match against Ferencvaros. In the last Super Lig match on October 22 they beat Sivasspor 1-0. Trabzonspor are currently third in UEFA Europa League Group H and still have chances to qualify to the next round. They lost their last match against Crvena Zvezda 1-2.
This is not the first time Stanislav Cherchesov's team play in Trabzon. Russia national team beat Turkey 2-1 in UEFA Nations League match in Trabzon in September of 2018.
