Kazakhstan national football team will host Slovenia in their home match of UEFA Nations League group stage on Sunday, October 13. The game will take place at the Central stadium in Almaty and will kick off at 15.00 CET. 

This is going to be the fourth match between the national teams of Kazakhstan and Slovenia. In their previous encounters, Kazakhstan faced Slovenia twice during the qualifiers for the 2024 World Cup, losing both matches 1-2 — first in Astana on March 23, 2023, and then in Ljubljana on November 20, 2023. Just about a month ago, on September 9, Kazakhstan was defeated 0-3 by Slovenia in the second matchday of UEFA Nations League. 

Stanislav Cherchesov, now leading Kazakhstan, also has prior experience against Slovenia from his time as coach of Russia. In the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Russia secured a 2-1 victory over Slovenia in Sochi on March 27, 2021.
