Kazakhstan national football team will host Austria in their home match of UEFA Nations League group stage on Thursday, November 14. The game will take place at the Central stadium in Almaty and will kick off at 16.00 CET.
Kazakhstan have played five matches against Austria so far - two in the Euro 2012 qualifying tournament (a 0-2 defeat in Salzburg on September 7, 2010, and a 0-0 draw in Astana on October 11, 2011), and two in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign (a 0-0 draw in Astana on October 12, 2012, and a 0-4 loss in Vienna on October 16, 2012). Kazakhstan suffered a 0-4 defeat in their most recent match, in Linz on October 13, 2024.
Stanislav Cherchesov has also faced the Austrian national team both as a player and as a manager. As a player, Cherchesov played the first half in Russia's friendly match against Austria in Klagenfurt on August 17, 1994. That match ended in a convincing 3-0 victory for Russia.
Later, on May 30, 2018, Cherchesov's Russia faced Austria in Innsbruck in a warm-up match for the 2018 World Cup. That game ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for the Austrians.
