FC Akhmat claimed a 3–1 home win over Krylia Sovetov in the 5th round of the Russian Premier League.

Egas Kasintura struck twice for the hosts, while Mohamed Konate added a goal from the penalty spot. Vladimir Ignatenko scored the visitors’ only reply.

 

Speaking at the post-match press conference, head coach Stanislav Cherchesov said:

- We were ready for a tough game. This was a six-pointer. Krylia are in good shape, and for us, victory was absolutely crucial. We had a difficult match in Orenburg on artificial turf, so credit goes to the lads — they carried out the game plan in every aspect. I would still like us to keep the ball more and make better use of the chances we create. Congratulations to everyone on the win. I hope that with each match, more and more fans will come to the stadium. We don’t want to ask them to come — we want to earn their support through our performance.
