For the Grozny side, Maksim Samorodov recorded a brace (59th and 90+2nd minutes). Two more goals scored by Akhmat were disallowed.
Stanislav Cherchesov shared his impressions of the match and answered journalists’ questions at the post-match press conference:
— The match consisted of two very different halves. We couldn’t get into the game and conceded two goals. In the second half, we wanted to come back, but unfortunately conceded a third goal quickly. I don’t know whether there was a foul on Shelia in that episode. Toward the end, we kept trying: we scored three goals, two of which were disallowed.
The main thing is that this match should serve as a certain lesson for us. We must play from the first minutes. During the week’s preparation cycle, nothing indicated this outcome. There is no team that never loses. The main thing is how we respond in the next match. I liked our team’s reaction to the first half; now we are preparing for the upcoming game against Baltika.
