Akhmat suffered a narrow 0–1 defeat away to Rubin in the Matchday 16 fixture of the Russian Premier League.

 

The only goal of the game was scored in the 75th minute by Mirlind Daku.

 

Stanislav Cherchesov shared his thoughts on the match and answered journalists’ questions at the post-match press conference:

 

“In preparing for Rubin, we changed our system — after three matches against them, we know each other quite well. Credit to the players: they executed our plan exactly as intended. I have no complaints about their commitment or the structure of our play. But the result is disappointing. A key defensive mistake in the second half? We’ll analyse everything afterwards. After matches like this, it’s hard to find the right words. We didn’t get the result, but the quality of our performance was satisfactory.”
