Akhmat claim a come-back victory against Dynamo Moscow

Akhmat defeated Moscow’s Dynamo 2–1 at home in the Matchday 17 fixture of the Russian Championship.

In the 26th minute, Mumi Ngamale put the visitors ahead after a pass from Nicolás Marichal. In the 47th minute, Georgy Melkadze levelled the score, and in the 84th minute, Ousmane Ndong converted a penalty to secure the win for the hosts.

Stanislav Cherchesov shared his impressions of the match and answered questions from journalists at the post-match press conference:

- We prepared for a difficult match. What we saw on the pitch was exactly what we had prepared for. Our team plays decent football, but individual errors have prevented us from picking up points. Today was a tough game. I congratulated the lads on an important victory. The season continues, and there is nothing for us to celebrate yet.

— Which formation suits your team better: with three central defenders or with two?

- I don’t like playing with three central defenders. We switched to that system against Rubin because we needed balance.

— How much will this victory boost the team emotionally ahead of the match against Orenburg?

- It certainly won’t make us worse, but we need to make use of these emotions. We just have to avoid slipping into euphoria.
