In Matchday 18 of the Russian Premier League, Akhmat will face Orenburg. The game will take place on 5 December at Akhmat Arena. Kick-off is at 17.00 CET.
The upcoming fixture will already be Akhmat’s fourth meeting with Orenburg under Stanislav Cherchesov in the past four months. On 13 August, Akhmat met Orenburg in the Russian Cup and lost 1–2. On 22 August, the teams drew 2–2 in the Russian Championship. In the return leg of the Cup, Orenburg once again prevailed, claiming a narrow 1–0 victory.
It is worth recalling that Stanislav Cherchesov also led his team against Orenburg on 7 April 2011, when he was in charge of Zhemchuzhina Sochi. In the second round of the FNL, the Sochi side earned a 2–0 away win.
In addition, the upcoming match against Orenburg will mark Cherchesov’s first managerial encounter with Orenburg’s new head coach, Ildar Akhmetzyanov. Interestingly, in 2011 Akhmetzyanov played the full match for KAMAZ against Zhemchuzhina-Sochi—then coached by Cherchesov. That game ended in a 1–0 win for KAMAZ.
